I am not a theologian in the strict sense of the word, nor do I have letters following my name that might indicate any significant academic girth. I am a Christian man who retired after 22 years of service as the headmaster of a medium sized Christian school. During that time, I have interacted closely with thousands of parents and students who have professed to be followers of Christ, but whose lives were lived like those who knew little of Christ, or do not know God at all. In addition, I have observed that most of the parents have shown little appetite for learning more about the God that they say they love and little desire to confront their own worldly lifestyles that are incongruent with the kinds of priorities and obedience that the Lord rightfully demands.

In advance, I will ask your forgiveness for three possible offenses. The first is my style of writing. You will find it to be less formal and more conversational- a style that may not sit well for some. The second offense is possible errors in spelling or grammar. Please note that I am not raising money through this blog, and as I have no staff, it may get a little rough here and there. The third possible offense may come as I tend toward being rather straightforward. That can easily be perceived as insensitive or arrogant. I am praying that the Lord will guard your heart against that perception, and if I am being arrogant, show me my sin. Know that the author is a sinful man writing imperfect articles. I am thankful for the gracious Lord Who forgives my sins and my writing errors and even brings good things out of bad.

On a personal note, I have been married for 44 years to a very beautiful and patient woman who gave birth to 2 wonderful children who in turn have blessed us with 3 precious grandchildren. We became Christians in our mid 30’s and have worshipped our King these last 30 years in Reformed Christian churches.
