Welcome to CherishEphesians64!
Our Mission: To implore Christian parents and leaders of the church to cherish and obey the vital command from God to raise children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). The purpose of this ministry is to put forth an argument for a massive change in how Christians view and exercise their God given role as parents and how churches must shepherd their flocks towards obedience in this critical gospel mandate. It is true that there are many good things happening around the globe in Christianity right now. Every decade has seen the arrival of new movements towards God and glorious works of the Spirit as He opens the eyes and ears of people around the world to the gospel. But, while we rejoice in the Lord’s goodness and kindness, we can’t help but lament over the prevalence of sin in the world and trend in our country towards greater wickedness and debauchery. In that day when we give an account to the Lord, I believe we will learn that disobedience to the great command found in Ephesians 6:4 had dramatic negative consequences for the truth of the gospel, the Great Commission, the state of the church, and the state of the culture. I will plead my argument for Biblical parenting with all its implications in several sections:- A survey of the landscape regarding the state of the American culture and the state of the church as it pertains to Christian parenting.
- A review of the Biblical mandate for Christian parenting from the scriptures.
- An examination of the reasons many Christian parents are failing to raise their children in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.
- A review of the reasons many church leaders are not fully supporting efforts to shepherd parents to obey Ephesians 6:4.
- A list of fundamental orthodox truths from the Bible about God, man, and the world we live in that are foundational to understanding the argument presented for Biblical parenting.
- Action points, ideas, and encouragements to develop a path toward obedience to Ephesians 6:4.
